7 Life Lessons We Learnt From Carrie Bradshaw

by Eve Macdonald

While Carrie might look fabulous AF 24-7, she doesn’t always make the right decision in life. Yep, we mean *that* Alexander Petrovsky relationship...

But that's what we love about her. She's relatable, she's messy, she's fun and most important, she's fabulous. (Oh, and did we mention that we want her NYC apartment and incredible wardrobe)

Here are our fave life lessons we learned from the Manolo Blahnik- loving girl herself:

1. Always stay true to yourself

Through all of Carrie's tough times with friends, work and relationships, she never lost sight of who she was and maintained her personal values.

2. But while we love her shoe collection, she's taught us it's important to save our money for rent

Don't get us wrong, we've lusted six seasons after many a Jimmy Choo, but if there's something we did learn is that the prices of NYC homes are extortionate.

3. Before you can love someone else, you have to love yourself

Carrie is the epitome of the "be your own best friend" attitude. She shows us all that loving yourself first is truly the most important thing.

4. To get what you want in life, you have to work hard

You might face many rejections along the way, but it will all be worth it. Carrie says that she came to New York with nothing but a dream and an issue of Vogue, so she had to work really hard to get to where she is.

5. Your personality can really shine through with your fashion choices

From slip dresses and tutus to high heels and statement jewellery, Carrie was the queen of fashion.

6. True love is worth waiting for

Even after Mr. Big married Natasha and Carrie was with Aiden, they found their way back to each other (eventually.) He did build her a walk-in closet, and who would say no to that? Plus, Carrie taught us not to 'settle for anything less than butterflies.'

7. Friendship is everything

Where would Carrie be without the three loves of her life, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte? When Big broke Carrie's heart again and again, it was her friends who were by her side. No matter what the girls face, they do it together...with a cosmo in hand!
