Music Fix | Where Do We Go
We fell in love with NY’s fiercest duo last year when we selected their track Impossible for our summer TV ad… fast forward six months and Lion Babe are in the studio shooting our new campaign with ALL the hair and sass you’d expect.
2015 was a mega year for the pair, featuring on Disclosure’s long-awaited second album Caracal, hitting up some of the hottest festivals on the planet and scoring editorials in the likes of Nylon and Complex mag.
We caught up with Jillian Hervey and Lucas Goodman on set to find out exactly what they’re getting up to this year…
What are you new year’s resolutions?
To be healthier; we’re thinking of taking up Kung Fu or karate. Also to continue to push ourselves and make more music.
Best thing you achieved in 2015?
Completing our debut album BEGIN, out February.
What are you most looking forward to in 2016?
The release of our album, making music and developing our live shows.
You played around the UK last year, where was your favourite place?
London really feels like a second home to us so it’s always great to be back there with our friends and crew.
Can you let us in on any big shows or festivals you’re playing this year?
We have just announced our headline show at KOKO in Camden this June.
If you could play any festival, which one would it be?
We’ve had a fair share of fesitvals but we would LOVE to experience Glastonbury.
Any killer collaborations lined up?
Everyone just went on vacation so there’s nothing set, but we have our signts set high on getting in with the true music legends, as well as some up & comers like ourselves.
Tell us something we might not know about you…
Lucas played hockey as a kid and I (Jillian) have a red trumpet.
Your new single Where Do We Go is out now, tell us a little more about it…
Where Do We Go is a disco-themed track that was originally created by Robin Hannibal and offered to us; it’s definitely a different vibe from our previous work but we’re always open to trying new sounds and seeing what we can do with it. We’re happy with disco making a return to music and jope it can tap into a broader audience.
If you could work with anyone this year, who would it be and why?
Missy Elliot; her sound, artistry and vibe has such a big influence on both of us and we always think of her. It would be really exciting to make something that makes you want to move as much as when you lsiten to Missy.
What was the last song you played?
ASAP Ferg – New Level.
What’s the last emoji you used?
The dog emoji because it looks exactly like [Jillian’s] Boston bulldog Dewey and it’s her birthday!
