He's sounding pretty (ridiculously) good too This month we caught up with the affable Josh Beech, the South London born model taking LA and the music industry by storm. His debut solo EP Fight Strong is out now. RJ: Hey Josh, great to see you! How are you? JB: My single just came out actually, really excited about it! It’s called Fight Strong; it’s the name of the EP as well. It’s a little different to anything you’ll have heard me do. I was in a band called Beech for the last few years, that was more pop rock and electronic sounding, this is more of an indie rock anthem, the response has been great so far. I’m really glad the songs out there. RJ: Music career highlight so far? A big highlight that sticks in my mind is when I was in Italy playing one of my first solo shows, It was completely sold out. Hey my name is Kwabs, I’m a singer from South London, and for anyone who doesn’t know my music; it’s a meeting place between old school soul and new and modern sounds. You've previously said you didn’t really have any musical role models growing up; where did you start to find inspiration? I’ve drawn most of my inspiration from life and then you know, the things I’ve listened to have been part of that but more than anything it’s about the things that I’ve experienced and I think that’s what brings a realness to the music and makes it, you know, me. When did you decide that music is where your heart lay? I think I’ve always known that music is for me but I don’t think I’ve always known that music was what I need to be doing with my life and as career, I think it’s only within the last few years I’ve realised that I want to use my voice to reach loads and loads of people not just a few.
